I can confirm a few things.  I have both the static and 
the shared libraries installed as they both come in the 
standard mysql-devel rpm: 
 
/usr/lib/libmysqlclient.so 
/usr/lib/libmysqlclient.so.14 
/usr/lib/mysql 
/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.a 
/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient_r.la 
/usr/lib/mysqlning coffee must have been diluted or something ...


I have rows starting with 0.
I have 3 fields on each row with and the numbers start
with 0 on the first row and continue...

ROW 0 = FIELDS 0,1,2
ROW 1 = FIELDS 3,4,5
ROW 1 = FIELDS 6,7,8


etc.

When I the user selects FIELD X, I need to figure out
which ROW they selected.... I can get the number of
the field. BTW, this is in a Tk HLIST and the field is
really an embedded ENTRY - I can query the entry
(FIELD in my example) by using $_[0]-> name -- but I
need to know the HLIST row that this ENTRY widget is
on.

I thought of using % on this to get the division by 3
remainder --.... I must have done this many times
before but those brain cells where this equation is
stored are damaged.

Set me straight fellow perl jedi...
