FWIW, I've been using goScreen (www.goscreen.info) since...oh, 2000 or 
so. It has consistently been great across upgrades etc - can't recall a 
single issue actually, and it has met my needs. For example, at the 
office I have dual monitors, and I've locked my mail to one monitor 
regardless of desktop and switch only the other. For those who like to 
tweak, there are lots and lots of configurability. Worth a try.
