Hi Paul,
Doing this as an extension for Komodo, similar to Firezilla for Firefox, 
would allow you to focus on your application development for now. 
Later, you can deal with getting xulrunner+pyxpcom working properly. 
Jumping the hurdle of the mozilla build system and the intricacies of 
pyxpcom builds up front can be discouraging.

It's part of why I posted about getting the build system up to snuff to 
do a redistributable xulrunner+pyxpcom, that's the hard part of using 
this stuff for app development.
