[Tdk-announce] ActiveState Tcl Dev Kit 4.0 now available | [Tdk-announce] ActiveState releases Expect for Windows 1.0 and Tcl Dev Kit 3.1
Hello Everyone,

I am pleased to announce that Tcl Dev Kit 4.0 Beta is now available. New
platforms and improved tools make it even easier to create, debug and deploy
applications to a broad range of users.

You can download Tcl Dev Kit 4.0 Beta 1 at:
    http://www.activestate.com/products/tcl_dev_kit/beta.plex

Note that this build is of beta quality and not recommended for full daily
use.

New in Tcl Dev Kit 4.0 Beta 1
---------------------------------

* Mac OS X and Solaris x86 Support

The TDK toolset is now available on Mac OS X and Solaris x86. TclApp also has
the ability to generate Mac OS X app bundles of your Tcl/Tk programs.

* TEApot integration

TclApp has been updated to fully integrate with the ActiveState Tcl Extension
Archive (TEApot).

* Enhanced Static Analysis

The Checker has added pragma support to allow for inline code control of the
Checker behavior.

* Tcl 8.5 Code Compiler

It is now possible to precompile Tcl 8.5 code using the new 8.5-based
Compiler.

* GUI Facelifts

All of the TDK tools have received a themed user interface facelift.

Licensing
----------

Tcl Dev Kit 4.0 Beta 1 has a built-in license that will expire in eight weeks.
We'll have a new build for you to play with before then.

This beta release can be installed side-by-side with a TDK 3 release version
as long as it is installed in a separate directory.

We are keen to get feedback on all of the above, and any other issues you may
encounter, via the TDK-beta mailing list.

Enjoy!
