Gene, I've not used the tcllib ftp package. However, if you take a look
at http://wiki.tcl.tk/ftp , there is some code showing how to open the
ftp handle, then get back files, etc. Perhaps that would be of help?

	From: Gene Osteen
	            Using the FTP that comes with tcllib what is the
best way to check if a remote directory exits? I am thinking I may have
to use Quote to do this but am not sure.
