Re: [Activetcl] Regarding the SOCKS proxy login | Re: [Activetcl] sparc solaris activetcl build environment question
Hello, what version of what compiler was used to build
ActiveTcl 8.5.2 on SPARC Solaris.

The reason for my question is this - when a developer has to build
her/his own extension, based on the libraries and header files distributed,
the compiler is also an issue. In the past, I've found cases in other
situations (not related to ActiveTcl) where gcc used different stack
assumptions, or memory allocation, or certain linker assumptions, etc.

On SPARC Solaris, one has the potential for at least one major compiler
difference - Sun's C compiler vs gcc. I don't know whether output from
different gcc versions have issues on sparc solaris or not, but having that
info at least means I have the answer when the developer trying it out asks.

Thank you all for the great support of ActiveTcl!

Even if explicitly stated to the contrary, nothing in this posting should
be construed as representing my employer's opinions.
