Re: [Anygui-devel] status | Re: [Anygui-devel] Related project: Rui
Hey all.

Members of this list may be interested in a related project called Rui at:

    http://www.cortext.co.il

Some of the points where the two projects touch:

1) The abstract problem of translating from one UI framework to another. Some
examples at:

    http://www.cortext.co.il/adapting.html

Anygui has 1 front-end (a new python UI framework) and N back-ends (Tk,
WxWindows, etc.). Rui has N front-ends (Java SWT, a new Perl UI framework),
and M back-ends (Mozilla XUL, IE6 DHTML). Besides doing translating, Rui also
does partitioning.

2) It would not be hard to create an Anygui backend for the Rui clients. Thus
you could run Anygui programs in remote web browsers, with improved usability
over the existing Anygui HTML backend, and with much less work.

thanx,
    Ran
