| And I do have to concede to
| both you and Paul Bristow that I have nothing to show, so your
| skepticism is quite valid. I should quiet down and let the physicists

| library.

... Just when I was becoming more encouraged by several other suggestions which
promise to allow many different systems through fancy templating and
metaprocessing.

My prejudices were formed before MPL worked widely. (Even the NIST SI units
system didn't work on MSVC 7.0). Since we have yet to progress much beyond where
Barton and Nackman were in 1994, it is surely worth waiting a bit longer to get
a long-life framework, even if it is more complicated. Hopefully, most of these
details can be hidden from users, most of whom can simply say they want to use
SI units, light years, or even Imperial ;-)

I am most encouraged by Hugo Duncan's rational (which compiles and 'runs' on
MSVC 7.1) and agree that this is a promising line of attack.
