It looks like you're trying to do this with Xalan, right? Currently,
Xalan doesn't support func:function -- you have to use a processor
that does, such as Saxon, 4XSLT or libxslt. Word from the Xalan team
is that they're working on EXSLT support, but you shouldn't expect
anything from EXSLT to work with Xalan yet.
