& XSLT Cool, yes -- if one can live with the limited precision.

When offered on a piece by piece basis such algorithms and implementations are just a little
 bit more than curiosity.

What I really wanted to emphasize was that FXSL provides *complete set of functions* -- be i
t trigonometric, hyperbolic-trigonometric, exponental, logarithmic, ... etc, and their reve
rse functions.

Add to this the findRoot template, which implements Newton/Raphson and binary-search algorit
hms for finding the root of any 1-argument fuction over R -- and you have a most powerful t
oolset implemented in XSLT and ready to use since 2002.

Do note, that one can specify the desired precision as a parameter to any of these functions
.

Cheers,

Dimitre Novatchev.
