whether we like it our not there is always an implicit upper limit to
precision....either imposed by underlying operatings system resources,
etc

I refer you to the various recent articles on 'binary sort' to show
how a piece of code could be used for 20-30 years and still have bugs
because of an assumption on precision of underlying systems.

This opened my eyes to actively looking at my code for where it might
have a problem 5-10 years down the line.
