Summary: itcl3.3 Does not configure under Ubuntu
Initial Comment:
Configure barfs on a syntax error on line 9533:
checking system version (for dynamic loading)... ../itcl3.3/configure: line 9533: syntax err
or near unexpected token `ac_space=' ''
../itcl3.3/configure: line 9533: ` case `(ac_space=' '; set | grep ac_space) 2> &1` in'
I don't know what's going on here. Typing echo `(ac_space etc etc at a command prompt runs p
roperly with no whining about a syntax error. Running the configure script gives the above e
rror.
So, itcl is 1.7M of uselessness if it won't build, or even configure.
I'm trying to build InstallJammer's "installkit" componenet from source, which includes itcl
3.3. Everything else in installkit builds just fine.
