Security should not be considered a feature but a requirement. As
developers, which I assume everyone on this list is, security should be at
the forefront of our thoughts. Security in terms of what we are
developing, how we implement it and the tools that we use.

I don't go to be thinking about code completion, I'm thinking about what I
might have over looked. The thought of my site being 0wn3d by a script
kiddie who sniffed my password, an update that I forgot to implement and
0-day exploits.

The digital world will not be a secure place until we make it that way.
As developers either you keep security in your sights or you get left by
the side of the road. Any tool that makes it easier for me to stay secure
is a favored tool. The converse is also true.

Until we, as a community, stop thinking of security as a "feature" and
start requiring it of our vendors things will not get better.
