[Komodo-beta] Komodo 4.3 released!
Today Komodo notified me of an available update to version 4.3.0 in my
Linux VM. I told it to download the update, and then I told it to apply
the update. A few seconds later, my window manager froze.
And strangely, I couldn't get to another console via Ctrl-Alt-Fx
keyboard shortcuts. So I killed X via Ctrl-Alt-Backspace and then
logged back in and restarted Komodo. On startup, it displayed the
following alert:
--
Unable to initialize the debugging system because the debugger could not
bind on port 9000. Debugging will be unavailable until you change the
debugger port in your preferences. You can try allowing the system to
provide a free port.
Debugger Initialization Error
--
It otherwise started up fine, however, and claims to be the new version:
Komodo IDE, version 4.3.0, build 15901, platform linux-libcpp6-x86.
Built on Thu Mar 6 04:34:38 2008.
So I'm not sure what happened or if it represents a bug in Komodo. I
notice that trackerd is running at the moment, and it, like app updates,
generates lots of disk activity, so perhaps my window manager was merely
unresponsive due to resource contention and would have come back eventually.
