I had the same problem - tried to do an upgrade install of 4.4.0a1 but still
got 4.3. Uninstalling Komodo and reinstalling 4.4.0a1 fixed it here too.

In the past I've always installed alpha/beta versions separately from the
stable version, but this time I saw the posts about how good 4.4.0a1 was, so
I thought I'd be daring and do a upgrade install. :-)
