[Komodo-beta] MoreKomodo and 4.4.x

Ahh, that's a pity.

I may take a look into learning XUL for the purpose myself... when my
workload becomes manageable... eventually... :-)

I hadn't seen that. I'd scoured the extensions list and the forums
before I posted the original request.. going back to look at the site
now I can see that not only have you released an extension which goes
some way to helping me in this area, but another extension, Qwin has
also been recently added... you wait for ages and two come at once...
:)
Your file list extension is very similar to the list of open files
from the window menu which is what I've had to use up until now
(because I'd need a 4500 pixel wide display to show all my open files
as tabs ;) ) and at first I was a little disappointed that it still
sorted the files alphabetically.
I thought I could just change the code to stop the sorting but then I
noticed that clicking on a file doesn't close the list - fantastic!
That lets me select from several files with the same name quickly
until I've clicked on the right one (something which I have to do all
the time as the filenames of the "language" files for some of the
software I am working on are identical to the filenames of the main
files).
Thanks very much for this!
In combination with having the left tab open to display the QWin tab
with its list of files in the order they were opened (so also the tab
order) I can now flick between several files more quickly.
That and the new "Sections menulist" mean that my productivity has
increased DRAMATICALLY with Komodo 4.4 - it's so much easier to jump
to an open file then to jump to a method in that file!
It's unbelievable the amount these simple enhancements have made..
together with the multiline search and replace introduced in 4.3 and
the MoreKomodo extension's Open all files/rename/backup functionality,
my whole working environment has improved dramatically in the past two
months.. thanks once again to all involved, Komodo is truly the best
editor of any platform now (that I know of)! :)
(Yes, I think I'm pleased ;-) )
All the best...
Conor
