Re: [Komodo-beta] Broken links to browser from Add-ons functionality (in Komodo IDE 5.2.0-alpha1)
When I go "Get Add-ons" and click on any link that should open an
external browser -- such as "Learn More" on an individual extension I
have searched for, or "See All Results" if my search has resulted in a
long list -- I get a little Launch Application dialog asking me to
pick a browser. By default it listed firefox, which is what I use so
I clicked on it. The dialog closed, but no web page opened. I tried
again and this time I clicked on the "Choose..." button, and browsed
to the binary for Firefox. This added a new firefox to the list of
options, which also doesn't work.
This appears related to
http://bugs.activestate.com/show_bug.cgi?id=81049, and I was
considering adding this as a comment to that ticket (but Bugzilla
isn't letting me log in as reported in an earlier email). That ticket
however seems to imply that it's a problem caused on machines that
don't have firefox installed, and that it can be worked around... but
on my machine there seems to be no way to work around the issue even
WITH firefox installed.
Komodo IDE 5.2.0-alpha1, Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit.
