Re: [Komodo-beta] Komodo eating memory; VCS support implicated?
The last few months, Komodo has occasionally started eating large
amounts of memory (300-500MB resident) shortly after I start it. The
behavior hasn't been consistent, and I haven't been able to identify
steps to reproduce or contributing factors.
But today it happened again, and this time I noticed that the VCS icons
in the tabs of the three version-controlled files I had open in Komodo
weren't all present. All three files are currently up-to-date, and the
leftmost tab for a version-controlled file had the requisite green
checkmark, but the two tabs for the version-controlled files to the
right of it had no icon.
Upon restart, all three tabs showed the green checkmark, and Komodo has
been using a normal amount of memory (about 80MB resident) for the last
20 minutes or so.
I'm using Komodo 5.2a1, but I think I started seeing the problem before
I upgraded from the stable release. I'm running the application on Linux
(Ubuntu 9.04), which is running in a VM using VMware Fusion, and the
version-controlled files are in the filesystem of the host OS (Mac OS X
10.5.8), which is mounted in the VM using Fusion's "shared folders"
feature, so perhaps that's a factor.
The files are version-controlled using Mercurial, and they're all in the
same repository. Besides those three files, the only other open files
are the Start Page and a non-version-controlled file that is also on the
host OS's filesystem.
Has anyone else noticed this problem or know what might be going on?
