Hah, I see I should have remembered that ticket since I actually
already commented on it.  :-)

Thanks for the workaround, it is working perfectly.  I've managed to
internalize the idea that I should make a snippet in certain contexts,
but for some reason I always forget how easy it is to just add a
command like that.
