Although, Abbreviations' default key-binding is not Tab, and Tab already
does a bunch of other magic in Komodo ( including indenting and
completing words in other ways ) so binding Tab to 'Insert Abbreviation'
isn't the best move.

My suggestion would be to install Stan's Tab Abbreviations extension:

http://community.activestate.com/xpi/tab-abbreviations

( ... you can do this directly in Tools / Addons, similar to installing
Firefox Extensions )
