[Komodo-discuss] Tab Completion
I'm continuing to have problems with Komodo on my Mac. These have come
to light after I upgraded the Mac to Snow Leopard (10.6.1) and Komodo
IDE to 5.2.1 (build 34168) but I can't tell which is causing the
problems.
First all the settings for the various servers I access weren't copied
over from 5.2.0. I did try the suggestions that were made for
correcting this but they still don't show up in the new build and I'm
having to enter them manually (once I've worked out what these are!).
I also get Komodo suddenly closing down. I did alter my Mac so that I
arrange for everything to be saved to RAM when I close my MacBook,
regardless of the state of the battery, and had thought that perhaps
this was causing this problem. However i see that the bug database
mentions someone else having this problem.
When I'm remotely testing CGI scripts I used to be able to see the
output as it would appear in a browser by clicking the HTML tag at the
foot but this now shows nothing.
Another problem I have is that I have set my test server to use port
9010 to connect to Komodo but I found there is now an intermittent
problem with Komodo saying the debugger could not bind on that port.
It did eventually work, and was working yesterday, but now today this
seems to be a permanent error.
Finally when I tried to debug a particular script yesterday it
couldn't find one of the modules I need although this had been working
OK previously. I'm using Perl 5.8.8 (build 822) and according to perl -
V my @INC contains /Users/(name)/Library/ActivePerl/lib, /usr/local/
ActivePerl-5.8/site/lib and /usr/local/ActivePerl-5.8/lib - using PPM
I see that some of my modules are located at the ActivePerl location
and some at the ActivePerl-5.8 location; the module that is supposed
to be missing being at the latter one. However the error message I get
in Komodo shows a completely different @INC which contains references
to Perl 5.10 but none of the above locations. I don't know if this
has any bearing on the problem but I see that my /System/Library/Perl
folder has subfolders labelled 5.10.0 and 5.8.9.
I'm particularly in need of a solution to the latter problem as I have
a CGI script that is causing problems and I need to test this urgently
so I'd be very grateful if someone could suggest how I can get over
that problem at least.
