Opendarwin x86

Hi,

I am new to this list, and a great lover of UNIX an OSS, I use
PCBSD/Linux FC5 and Suse 10.1. As far as I can see, Darwin kernel x86
version works on MacMinis with Intel Processors., core solo/core duo.
My question is, If I build an x86 system by myself. What are the best
supported motherboards (Intel's) ? Do I need EFI enabled boot ROM,
does it make any difference to buggy BIOS for Darwin? What are the
motherboard choices in this case (EFI)? Can I use a Celeron D
socket775 cpu as a cheap choice?

Thanks and hopefully I will have a running system with your help.
