While I didn't take the time out to repeat and analyze the process yet,
then I'll mention my first attempt to install while PDK 5.3 was present,
failed
completely.
I did not uninstall 5.3 in the first place, simply because I was hopeful
of getting a warning that with the previous version in place, I was
doomed to failure....
I didn't think too much of it, since that has been normal behavior
in the past, yes? - I simply reverted to uninstalling 5.3 and reinstalling
the beta. Here's what I did record:
1) Uninstall 5.3 without reboot.
2) Attempt install beta, (apparent success). Reboot post-install.
3) Debugger won't run. Find that debug listener service is not installed.
4) Perform repair install. Reboot. Still no listener.
5) Uninstall beta, reboot, perform full install. Reboot. Success!
I'm running standard...
