[PDK-Beta] ActiveState Perl Dev Kit 7.0 references wanted
Ok, I get it now. This has already been fixed for the final release. The command line tool
s will now display the -help output
instead of trying to launch the GUI when there is no GUI for the platform.

Jan,
I knew that there was no GUI for the 64-bit version, but I was unaware that pai.exe was the
GUI interface. When executing the
binaries I was expecting to see some time of text based usage output (like perlapp does), in
stead of just an error and exiting. The
tools with -help works as expected.
Thanks for the quick response,

The 64 bit versions don't include the GUI, only the command line tools.
You can install 32-bit ActivePerl and PDK on a 64-bit system if you just want to use the GUI
to become more familiar with all the
command line options, but you can only run the 64-bit tools from the command line yourself.
We will include GUIs in the 64-bit PDK once we support the Tkx module in 64-bit ActivePerl.
Cheers,
-Jan

I have the 7.0 Beta 3 (which is really 6.9.92.275147-Beta-64) PDK installed on an AMD 64 sys
tem. I do not seem to have pai.exe
(normally located in bin\lib) installed and therefore perlctrl, perlsvc, and perltray refuse
to run. What's going on?
