Hi,

After a week of strictly unit testing, I've gotten a lot of the problems 
you've had fixed.  There may be a few leftovers, mainly because 
PEAR_PackageFile is not 100% unit-tested, but the test script for 
generating channel.xml works with this tarball, and lots of other things 
do too.

pear info is broken, haven't had time to fix it.

I return to the states tomorrow, maybe I'll fix it on the plane :)
