I should add that it only worked when I used the PHP msi installer for 
Windows; I was never able to get it to work with the PHP zip distribution. 
(The installer claimed that it had created a pear.bat file, but that file 
was simply not present in my PHP directory.)  So there still appears to be 
a few issues here.

Is there a bug filed on this?  I couldn't figure out where exactly I was 
supposed to file it.  (Is this a PEAR "Website bug", or a bug in PHP 
5.2.0?)
