[PEAR-DEV] To the LiveUser Team

[PEAR-DEV] fixing the documentation problem | Re: [PEAR-DEV] To the LiveUser Team
I went through LiveUser and got it up and going last night. I posted
comments on the FAQ page of the wiki that outline the steps I had to go
through to get example4 and the GVN samples working together. I think
that this series of instructions is what everyone who complains about
LiveUser wants - before digging through the theoretical or even
technical details of how it all works, they want to have something that
they can poke around in and see what it would do for them if they get it
all set up.

No that I can see it in action, it does look like a very well-engineered
system. But it took me easily six or seven hours, spread across the
entire day, to figure out all of those steps. And I'm pretty sharp, I
think, and I was already somewhat familiar with PEAR and MySQL.

If you can make it easier for newbies to find that series of steps, and
maybe cut some of them out (like dependencies on other PEAR packages, as
someone on the wiki suggested) you'll get more people buying in and
using LiveUser and more people interested in assisting with the development.

Cheers,

Tim
