I installed PEAR on a shared host while trying out a database program called PHPFIN.  I now 
want to REMOVE Pear completely because I don't need it, but when I try to delete the files u
sing FTP I get "PERMISSION DENIED".

I have searched though numerous forums and FAQ lists and I cannot find the answer I need!

What is the process required to completely remove PEAR and ALL the remaining files from my s
hared host?
