Win32::Lanman make computer go argh!

I am using Perl v5.8.8 on Windows XP SP2 and am using Win32::Lanman for
the first time.

My test program begins like this:
  use Win32;
  use Win32::NetAdmin;
  use Win32::Lanman;

As soon as it hits "use Win32::Lanman", a gui dialog pops up which
starts like this:
 
    "Perl Command Line Interpreter has encountered
     a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for
     the inconvenience."

I would appreciate any clues as to where to start looking to fix this
problem.
