Howdy-
  I've successfully built this for Solaris 2.6 and 8, so I don't think
  the problem is in the package. If I remember correctly Matt's build
  code wants to call "xml2-config" a binary which spits out the build
  details for libxml2. Do you have this binary in your path?

  Basically I'm guessing that you have libxml2 installed some place
  non-standard (like we do), so you will have to do a few gyrations to
  get a working build. If this tip doesn't help, I can dig and look to
  see what I've done to build it in our environment. It wasn't very
  hard once I looked at what Matt's code was trying to do.
