Thank you John! After failing to get a 100% reliable build of
XML::LibXML I tried this out... It seems to be doing the trick nicely.

I can't guarantee it works with sunos, though it's self-contained and
reasonably portable (I use it under hpux -- C-compiled with no
problems).
