Re: Perl XML: next steps
& XSLT Hi all,
based on the recent discussion, it seems all we need is to arrange basic
rules for the project, to reach an agreement about the infrastructure
and then to get some initial distros in.
I have already noted an idea of decentralized project with maintainers
controlling particular distros. This is actually not that different from
how Perl XML works today. What is supposed to change is a better
availability of sources, and it should also be clear what distros belong
to the project and who is their current maintainer. Perhaps, it could be
useful to put together a brief list of rules for the project members
(who is allowed to commit what, where to send patches, etc.).
These parts of the infrastructure are clear:
- this mailing list
- rt.cpan.org bug tracker
Then, IMO, we need a repository (preferably SVN) and a web homepage
containing some basic info (distros, maintainers) and joining the other
parts together. As Robin have asked Ask, we should wait for his answer
to see what perl.org can offer.
