IIS 5.1 - two similar applications interfering

RE: Win2003 server - permission | PerlEx not tracing
SERVICES I have two web applications in separate folders on my computer set up as
two separate virtual directories in IIS 5.1. The Perl code is identical
but is separate copies. Each application sets up its own @INC
corresponding to the path on the disk for its folder.

When application protection is set to Medium (Pooled), the behaviour of
the the applications shows that they are sharing state. Does this mean
that PerlEx is using the same Perl interpreter for both virtual directories?

Thanks in advance
Horace
