To do a get_screen on the second monitor so I can bind a subwindow there,
just figuring out how to do it

If you are using the Gnope installer, you have Gtk 2.6.9. You could try
updating to Gtk 2.8.x and see if it works there.

Also, I don't know why you need the devices? They are just the mouse
pointers. And for me, list_devices() works.
