Given that PHP 5.2.1 hasn't been released yet, I think this is probably a 
little ahead of time :)

We're about to release the PHP-GTK 2 alpha against GTK 2.6.9.

Whether the final PHP-GTK 2 release is against GTK 2.6 or 2.8 is open to 
persuasion. Personally I'm with you.
