Installing Modules? | Re: Installing Modules?
Usually there is no need to compile modules from source for Active State
Perl on Win32 platforms as this is exactly what PPM is for. However in
this instance it looks like you might need to follow King Seth's
instructions to install the Crypt-SSLeay module. As far as I can see,
even though the Build Status page (
http://ppm.activestate.com/BuildStatus/5.8-C.html ) says that the
Crypt-SSLeay module was succesfully built for windows, there is no
corresponding ZIP in the 8xx/Windows ppm repository. (
http://ppm.activestate.com/PPMPackages/zips/8xx-builds-only/Windows/ ).
Can anyone else explain why this is the case?

As for LWP::UserAgent, it is part of the libwww-perl package which is a
core module in Perl 5.8 (i.e. it should already be installed).

Cheers,
Sam
