Out of morbid curiousity, I have to ask: Why is it important for you to 
know this?

Pygame effectively is the only Python SDL wrapper known to mankind ;-).  
So if you need an SDL wrapper, pygame is your only choice, hence it 
shouldn't matter how popular the site is, only how mature pygame is (and 
it's very mature/stable, FYI).
