[Pythoncard-users] PythonCard and PyCrust session at OSCON
In the last month or so I've seen a number of posts on the Python-tutor
mailing list, comp.lang.python, etc. from Visual Basic (VB) users that are
interested in Python, but dismayed by the current state of the IDEs and/or
GUI toolkits for Python. We've seen a bit of that on this list too ;-)
So, I went ahead and created a wiki page where anyone can list issues,
helpful hints for transitioning to PythonCard, gotchas and other
limitations, praise, criticism, whatever. Then when somebody asks about
Visual Basic and Python in the future, we can point them to the wiki for
more info.

There are a number of people on this list, including myself that have used
Visual Basic. It is difficult for me to give an unbiased comparison of VB to
PythonCard in its current form, so it would be great if other VB users (or
former VB users) could help out. Pointing out problems is encouraged. You
can post on the mailing list before adding to the wiki if you want or are
afraid of editing the wiki, but still have something you would like to
contribute.
I really appreciate everyone from VB-land that have joined the list and are
asking questions and uncovering issues with PythonCard. If you can help with
the wiki page, we should be able to get more VB users on board.
We should probably have a PythonCardForHyperCardUsers page, but I think I'll
wait on that until wxPython-Mac is more stable.
Thanks,
ka
