[Pythoncard-users] The Joy of PythonCard

[Pythoncard-users] added rpn calculator sample | [Pythoncard-users] Interesting Bug in flatFileDatabase Sample
I hate to take up valuable bandwidth, but I just couldn't resist the
tiniest celebration this morning.

I have been building a medium-sized (for me) application in PythonCard.
Yesterday I got a block of time and really made good progress on it. It's a
sort of super ToDo List manager which will ultimately have all the bells
and whistles *I* want in such a beast because I have the source code!!!!!!

Anyway, I digress.

I finished the first stage of development last night, so I have a working
app now. I won't release it until it has a bit more functionality, but I
can already use it. I sort of wondered, given the much rougher state of
wxPython (and thus, by extension, PythonCard) on the Mac OS X platform if
the sucker would even launch over there. But I figured, "What the heck, I
can waste a few minutes to see." So I zipped up the files and emailed them
to myself, installed it on my OS X box and double-clicked the .py file.

THE SUCKER RAN. It did everything it does on Windows. It's ugly as sin (I
have to learn a *lot* about cross-platform GUI design now. Good news is I
love learning new stuff!) but it absolutely functions correctly.

That brought great joy to my heart and I just wanted to share it.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled (hopefully PythonCard)
programming.

PYTHONCARD ROCKS!
