RE: [Pythoncard-users] Extend resourceEditor with custom widgets | [Pythoncard-users] flatfileDatabase updates and release 0.6.8
I've started a wiki page to capture issues that come out of discussions on
this list or that I think of as I'm working on fpop.

http://wiki.wxpython.org/index.cgi/PythonCardEmailApp

It might turn out that fpop stays simple and the work I'm doing right now
will turn into a separate email client. I would love to hear from anyone
interested in working on the full email client, so we can decide on a basic
feature set, what mailbox format to use, etc. My plan is to leverage
flatfileDatabase for the address book/contacts. I want to be able to import
contact info from some existing sources such as Outlook, CSV, Netscape,
Mozilla, Eudora, whatever we can figure out how to parse and import.

My own focus will be on getting data out of Outlook, which is what I
currently use. I don't need most of the Outlook "features" and have wanted
to switch away from it for a long time, so this is as good a time as any to
naively pursue my own email client :)

I expect this to be an ongoing long-term project. I don't expect most people
to switch away from their existing email clients, nor do I expect to
duplicate the functionality of the more sophisticated clients, but I do
expect to be able to do something that is relatively simple and useful
without a lot of feature bloat.
