[Pythoncard-users] new sample pages

[Pythoncard-users] FW: [wxPython-users] Better late than never (wxPython 2.3.4.1) | RE: [Pythoncard-users] new sample pages
I've been unhappy with the sample screenshots pages for a long time. Not
only are a lot of the images old, but the descriptions of each sample is
often brief and it has been so long since the pages were updated that most
of the samples aren't even included.

Last night I wrote a script to take the existing readme.txt files from each
sample and stick each readme.txt into an HTML template, along with some
screen shots. A word wrap function is applied to the text along with a URL
substitution before the text is stuck into a <pre> block in the HTML. The
whole generation and upload is automated, so it should be easy to adapt the
HTML template as well as add more screenshots or expand the pages to include
an Also see section, key concepts or components covered by the sample, etc.
I will be making new screenshots for all the samples, uploading them, and
regenerating the pages over the next few days.

I've uploaded the first pass which includes a very simplistic table of
contents. Should the contents use a frame like Dan did for the dialogs
documentation?

HTML and page design are not really my thing, so if anyone has suggestions
for improvements let me know. I will be checking the script and templates
into cvs soon. I would be happier if someone else took care of this stuff,
so maybe this will get the ball rolling in that direction.

The sample pages should hopefully give people a better idea of what
PythonCard comes with that could be useful even if you don't want to do much
programming as well as give people ideas about the types of things they
could do. So, it qualifies as marketing and as such should look a little
nicer than my simplistic attempts.

p.s. There is a small bug with the wrap function which is why sometimes
you'll see text in the readme such as:

That should get fixed soon.
