http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/PyXPCOM is pretty decent, it just needs
more content. This content has to come from the community, or someone
sponsored (presumably by their employer) to create it. pyxpcom could
certainly do with a real "champion", which is not a role I perform well.

I don't agree with that - the problem is not the vision of Mozilla Corp -
they have been instrumental in the development of pyxpcom - both in the
early days (offering their experience and knowledge) and more recently by
offering cash.
As far as I'm aware, there is no other corporation or entity that has funded
anyones time, or even part of their time, to pyxpcom in the last 5 years or
so. So I'd suggest Mozilla Corp is about the only entity to have any real
vision for pyxpcom and they should be commended for offering the only
tangible support pyxpcom has received recently.

Its not just my passion, it also relies on concrete support. Hopefully
soon, some company will see pyxpcom as a strategic investment they can make,
and fund someone to help move it to a new phase. Sadly, it is stuck in a
chicken-and-egg problem, where people assume the lack of activity means it
is dead, so they don't take the opportunity to take action to help it stay
alive. Just last week on #pyxpcom, I had a conversation with someone who
avoided using pyxpcom simply because they assumed it was dead - which they
assumed because only 3 people hang out in #pyxpcom. We just need some
people to make the alternate decision, meaning the next person after them
will see a larger community, so they too make the alternate decision.
Before we know it, we would have a real community on our hands :)
Cheers,
Mark
