We're building on trunk experimentally.  PyXPCOM works fine, though we 
have a number of patches for building and runtime.  You can find the 
patches at 
http://svn.openkomodo.com/openkomodo/browse/openkomodo/trunk/mozilla/patches-new

Grab any patches that start with pyxpcom in the filename that are either 
in that directory, or the HEAD subdirectory.  I haven't tried building 
on 10.5 yet.
