Dear SOAP Developers,

=20

We are all excited about the great work that is being done to foster=20
SOAP interoperability. To further help our community achieve this=20
goal, Microsoft and IBM will host two events where developers can=20
meet both in person and on the network, to discuss and resolve=20
interoperability problems. Even if you can't attend the events,
you=20
are welcome to participate via the network.

=20

In order to achieve this important goal, the SOAP community is=20
defining a scenario to implement full-featured applications building=20
on the SOAP 1.1 and W3C XML specifications. We view it as an=20
important goal to use these specifications as standards -- that is,=20
to achieve interoperability by objectively measuring implementation=20
behavior against the publicly-available specifications, correcting=20
defects in implementation and thereby reaching confidence that any=20
two implementations conforming to the specification will interoperate=20
within the scope of the specification.

=20

The first event will be hosted by IBM and Microsoft in Raleigh, North=20
Carolina on April 19th and 20th. (Details of the actual room location=20
will be posted when we know how many people plan on participating.)

=20

The second event, hosted by Microsoft and IBM, is from May 8th =96
May=20
10th, during NetWorld + Interop, and will be at the Las Vegas=20
Convention Center, Room N108.=20

=20

All details of these events will be available at:

=20

If you would like to join the direct mailing list for these events,=20
kindly send email with your contact information to either of the=20
folks below. No information provided will be made public or shared=20
for any other purpose without your express permission. All=20
information sent by direct mail will be posted on the web site as=20
well.

=20

Other companies wishing to participate in sponsorship are welcome to=20
join us! This is an open process.
