Initial Comment:
AA fonts not rendering even though xft support is default in 8.5a6. Supplying --enable-xft o
n the ./configure line enables a build that renders AA fonts properly. I note that the compi
le output for the failed build only has -DHAVE_LIBXFT=1 but not -DHAVE_XFT=1 as well.
