Don Porter raises some attractive alternatives to the proposed syntax
in TIP #137.

I'd like to observe that:

   * Mr. Kovalenko is not a TCT member, and we wish to encourage
     TIPs from outside.

   * The proposed syntax is "good enough," and we have ample time
     to make the improvements that Don suggests before even the earliest
     8.5 beta release.

If Don wishes to make the improvements, I'll be happy to vote for his
TIP as well.

My vote on TIP #137 stands.
