We use it since end of 1999 in a highly MT environment
and have sold about 1600 licenses world-wide of the
product that relies in general on 3 pieces of code:

   aolserver/navisever
   tcl
   xotcl

Our website has more marketing info about the product
if you are curious.

I have learned what code (and API) stability means.
After all, we built the company on the above and
are in business since about 8 years.
So, I would not call XOTcl a newcomer. It is about
10 years arround and is being used in applications
you may not even imagine being done with Tcl.
W/O XOTcl, it would just not be possible. Period.

Apropos rest of your post... I am personaly simply
interested in getting the best OO support in Tcl.
I do not have time for religious wars. I must earn
money. As I see the TIP 257, this isn't going to
help me achieve my goals. It will create additional
instability and give me less possibilities.

I understand that some people may like the TclOO.
Also, there are some that don't.

I strongly encourage TCT to vote with NO for the
TclOO inclusion in the mainstream code until it
has reached the required stability and functionality
needed for running professional applications.

Moreover, I urge both TIP'ers to finally sit down and
engage in *communication*, bringing us the *best* OO
for Tcl we can get.
It is all about communication, really.

Zoran
