For what it's worth, and without commenting on TclOO vs XOTcl, I have  
to agree here. XOTcl is the most sophisticated and one of the most  
interesting OO systems I have seen, whatever the language. I think it  
is something other OO systems should look up to. I know even Python  
advocates who admit XOTcl has some good stuff in it. I've also used  
it in a wide range of projects and the developers have been very  
responsive with any questions or comments I have had.

Whatever decisions are made: please, please talk to the XOTcl  
developers. I understand there might be language barriers, maybe?,  
but the guys know their stuff and have put a lot of work and  
experience into XOTcl.
