Does anyone have any idea what would cause
the following?

Our wish/aqua app on OSX downloads an xls file and opens it
with Applescript tell Finder to open ...
Generally this works, but a single user says
it always fails the first time and after trying
several times, it works. No tcl errors are seen in our logs.
(I had him reproduce failure and then double click on a 
copy of the file in Finder, and it opened without a problem.)
In OS8 we used to have problems running out of memory 
while excel was opening but I understand osx uses memory
on an as-needed basis. I'd be grateful for any leads. I
am stumped?
