[MACTCL] *Config.sh vs tcl.m4

Re: [MACTCL] Cascade menus in 8.5 (HEAD) | Re: [MACTCL] *Config.sh vs tcl.m4
I am trying to clean up an old autoconfed package that uses tcl/tk
and BLT.

I am totally confused about whether to configure it using tcl.m4 or
the tcl/tkConfig.sh. There seems to be no useful documentation on
this, and searching around seems to find a lot messages which
contradict each other about which method is deprecated.

Which method is prefered?? Help please.
